Doctor
You save lives, make difficult decisions, and often work under intense pressure. The Stockholm region is home to some of Sweden’s leading hospitals, including Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge and Solna, Södersjukhuset, and Ersta Hospital – all within comfortable commuting distance from Farsta strand.
Nurse
Nurses are the backbone of Swedish healthcare and are in high demand across the region. Major employers include Region Stockholm with its university hospitals, emergency hospitals, and primary care, as well as a growing number of private healthcare providers – most reachable by commuter rail or metro.
Firefighter
You respond when others run away. Greater Stockholm’s fire and rescue service is one of the country’s largest emergency services organisations. Farsta fire station is just a few minutes by bike from Stockholm South, and other stations in the region are easily reached by car.
Police officer
Stockholm Police is the country’s largest police region. Farsta police station is nearby, and the Swedish Police Authority’s other offices at Södermalm, Kungsholmen, and Huddinge can be reached quickly by car or public transport.
Military officer
The Swedish Armed Forces operate at several locations in the Stockholm region, including the Supreme Headquarters at Gärdet, the Military Academy Karlberg, and the Swedish Defence University on Östermalm – all reachable from Farsta strand within a reasonable commute.
